Lexi Reese

CEO
Lanai

Lexi Reese serves as CEO of Lanai, addressing a critical blind spot in corporate America. Organizations are staking their futures on AI while lacking visibility into their employees' actual usage patterns and practices. Her path to this role has been unconventional, spanning documentary filmmaking, American Express, Google's advertising infrastructure, a COO position at Gusto, and involvement in two Senate campaigns. Each experience demonstrated how complex systems rarely function as anticipated or designed. Her documentary background developed skills in examining narratives beyond their surface presentations. At Google, she observed how the most essential infrastructure often operates invisibly. The advertising platform processes billions of daily transactions, yet most users remain unaware of the underlying systems enabling those advertisements and their role within them. The Senate campaigns revealed that democratic institutions function through informal networks that extend beyond traditional civic structures. During her tenure at Google, she witnessed system failures as they encountered scaling challenges. The transition from ten thousand to one million users creates fundamentally different operational pressures. This experience led to the realization that similar challenges could emerge with AI adoption across enterprises. While companies believe they are managing this technological transition systematically, they are often operating without adequate oversight or understanding. This insight drove the creation of Lanai. The company develops tools enabling enterprises to monitor team AI usage patterns and proactively identify potential risks before they materialize into significant problems.
